Future of the site Part 1
These are the rules of the Smash Underground.
GuruKid and Tastingo made these rules when the forum was first created. They made them so our community would be fun and organized. These rules where made to keep everything and everyone inline. They did keep everyone in line for awhile, but recently I see that some of us are wanting to ignore them. This is unacceptable. What I am saying is we are forgetting suppose to be and becoming something else. We are suppose to be a Brawl community yet we act as if we are some tight clique of spoiled children.
When a new member joins they sometimes make a intro topic introducing themselves. We normally greet them with kind words. Yes, this is nice and all but what happens after that? Do we simply just leave them there? I have noticed this is why no one joins or stays unless they are one of the people that are what we call a 'Core' member. We have over 125 members, yet only 20 active ones. That is not right. All I'm saying is that when a new member joins invite them to the chat or play them in Brawl. We are a Brawl Community after all. We need to start acting like one. How can new members listen to rule #6 when they have no one to have fun with? I just ask we stop acting like we are better at brawl and help some new members out. Just remember, you at one point weren't to good at brawl and were new to this site.
The pointless and spam threads need to end, guys. It may be funny but it makes the sire look bad. If any Mods or Admins see any pointless/spam thread, they will delete it as soon as possible. Then you will be warned. If you continue to do it you will be banned. Ban lengths will vary. This also goes for pointless/spam posts. Cut it out, we aren't 3 year olds.
This is a huge problem I have been seeing lately. Almost every topic in this forum has some sort of off topic subject. This is how we will fix it. Your off topic post will be deleted or we will lock the whole topic. If you continue to go off topic, it will result in a ban.
The bickering and the fights need to stop. If you have a problem, alert an Mod/Admin and they will help or take the dispute to pms. If a flame topic starts the person(s) who the Mod/Admin see fit to ban will be BANNED. No if(s) and(s) or but(s). We don't need your drama making a scene. Seriously, its stupid.

This is for the Mods. You were chosen to be Mods because you were mature, active, and had a great sense of judgement. Many more reasons but those are a few. Now its time for you to start doing your jobs. Read all of the above and go by the instructions I have given you. You were made Mods for a reason. Do your job as a Mod and keep the forum under control. Thank you.
What your Superior says GOES
Lately, all of you have been demanding and have expected the Admins to do what you say. Well, from now on we won't be catering to your every whim. If you make an suggestion and we don't like it, We Don't Like It. If we make a decission and you detest it, oh well. For example, the mp3 player. I have heard from numerous members that they don't like it. Well here is a thought, why don't you search the internet for one for us and suggest it instead of being a whiner ;D. Harsh? Very. True? Very. Everyone has been demanding so now it's time we can be demanding. I personally demand a little more respect. I'm sick of hearing sarcasm in every response to my post. If you haven't noticed already, the Admins run this site. Not you. Harsh? Very Q.Q. True? Very Q.Q. If I make I typo, I have it pointed out. I don't care if I accidently spell something wrong. It's the internet. I try my best to type fast and spell right but no one is perfect.
Sorry if I sounded like a 'douche' but these things need to happen. If anyone responds to this thread with sarcasm... -_-... Your post will be deleted. ^_^

Re: Future of the site Part 1
i agree with a majority of this however i believe it is not only our job to be inviting to new members, but they also have to make an effort to make themselves noticed. If we were ignoring them that would be a different story. It is just lots of our new members seem to not even try to accomadate themselves with any of us.

I have seen a lot of new members in the chat and see no one talk to them. Just ignore them like nothing. I usually can't play so I tell them no and it seems like I'm letting them down.

Yes.
I say we should at least leave the chat, or put afk in our name if were not currently at the chat, because its really annoying to go in there and nobody is there but they are all signed in.

All you have to do is click on your name and then click where you type and put AFK. It takes three seconds.

Re: Future of the site Part 1
Hmm.. the AFK thing in the chat is a good idea actually. Also, More people should keep their FC's in their Chat name.
Chat is great and all, but lets try to make the main board more interesting too. We don't wanna just become about the chat room... I may have a few suggestions about this, I'll post them later.
Anyway, yes, lets try to make every new member feel welcome, let them know they're wanted in our community, and that we need them, because we really do

Re: Future of the site Part 1
I completely agree with all that Rei has said. When Taz and I first created this site, we were specific about what rules we'd establish so that the site would be a great experience for all. And lately, I see these very rules being ignored, neglected, forgotten.
Sadly, I've been noticing more and more of this within the past few weeks. The cliquish, immature mentality must be broken if this site is to prevail. A building collapses if it has no stable foundation to support it; The most efficient and lucrative advertising campaign can be done for this site, and it will all just be for 100 more inactive members if the underlying negative attitude is not changed.
If you don't respect your given power, and abuse it against other members for the sake of amusement, then you simply don't deserve it.
Just use common sense and courtesy, and you'll go far (in both this forum and in life). Make Love, Not War!

Re: Future of the site Part 1
Thanks Guru ^_^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Continuing from where I left off...
I set down easy rules that will make our Chat a better place to socialize. Please follow them. These rules are very simple. I'm not going to explain them, but I want to address some other things.
New Chat Mod and Stricter Banning
First of all, No more bans for lulz, demonstrations, or for no reason. I'm tired of getting complaints from members. Not even if the ban is for 1 second. Mods need to show maturity and respect. I will be making Zephron a Chat Mod again since he has been one for ever and hasn't done wrong or abused his power. (Zeph, if you see me on the chat just pm me telling me to make you Mod. Thanks. )
Chat Arguments and what you can do to avoid them
Next, guys it's a chat. Stop the stupid arguments... you don't know how many private chats I get from people trying to get me to resolve their problem. From now on if you come to me to fix your problem, I'll ban ALL of the people in the argument (unless you truly weren't doing anything). Also, zach, zero, and Zeph are Mods of the chat. If you have a problem address them. They also were made Mods for a reason. We also have another wonderful feature to stop flamers. If you are sick of listening to a troll/flamer/person/potatoe or someone is bothering you, here is a wonderful idea. Put them on "Ignore". Seriously, Do It.
Patience will get you somewhere
I'm not saying you can't talk to me about problems, No. I'm always open to help or hear someone out. If you just want to talk private chat me. I'm usually away from keyboard, but if you want to talk and private chat me I will probably answer in 5 mins or so. Also, don't nag me or Taz on the chat. I also get a lot of "Rei?" "REI!?", "REEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIII!!!!". I'm not Snake. Stop screaming my name, yeesh. If you do that then I will ignore you. Like I always say, Be Patient. If you are patient I will hear you out. If you are impatient I will ignore you until you learn patience.
I think that is it for now. Please guys, listen to this and try to do it. It really isn't that hard . I'm telling you all of this so we can get along easier and have a better time.
~Rei~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Continuing from where I left off...
- Spoiler:
- Rules of the Chat:
1. Be respectful to the staff of the Underground (Admins, Global Mods, Chat Mods). This means do not argue with them if they make a ban. What they say goes. You may ask them why the ban occurred but do NOT argue or start any flames.
2. Don't say anything disrespectful, vulgar, or offensive to another user.
3. Don't spam or troll.
If any of these rules are broken the penalty will be a ban (time limit is varies). If you are banned more than 5 times by the same person in one week it will result in a 3 day ban from the forums. If you still do not follow the rules after the forum ban then you will have your Chat rights taken away. Anymore trouble and you will be banned from the forum Permanently.
Thank you for your cooperation.

1.Agreed.
2.I will start putting people on ignore.
4.I also believe that when i do say "rei", "rei?", "reis", Or "REEEEEEEEIIIIIIIII" its never a pc
5.I think the people in the chat should always write afk or put afk in their name if they are leaving and not signing out. Worst case scenario just sign out if your leaving the chat.
6. Ignore 4.
