Wifi Connection
Anyone know how to make Brawl wifi better? It's annoying how much my game goes down because of lag. I have tried calling all the people I can and they have done everything. So, I'm coming to you guys for help. Please do not leave any annoying comments. I'm not in the mood. If you want to help please help. If you done then just keep truckin. Thanx for your help. I know I sound annoyed and angry... because I am. I'm mad I can't play the people I want to without lag screwing the game up.
Thanx for your help and support.
Btw: I have a Linksys Router. My Wii is wireless.

Re: Wifi Connection
I understand your frustration, Rei. Heavy lag can really ruin a potentially great experience...
For one thing, a wired internet connection is considered best (data travels faster through cables than through air, I hear). Second, you can check your firewall and have your router allow traffic through all UDP ports (learned this through Nintendo's tech support forum).
Also, since your connection is wireless, be sure that no one else in your house is sharing your connection, or that some stranger isn't stealing your wi-fi.

Re: Wifi Connection
Sorry to hear all this Rei. Emphasis on the stangers stealing your internet, though. Its happened to alot of people I know. Change your password, or if anything put one up.

Re: Wifi Connection
How do you get a wired connection?
Also, how do I know if someone is stealing my wifi?
I have Norton Virus Protection, would that mess anything up?
Sorry about the barrage of question but I need to know. I'm a noob at this kinda stuff. XD

You'll need an ethernet (cable) connection from your router to your Wii, and you'll also need a Wifi USB adapter for the Wii in order to properly attach the cord into the Wii.
I've only had wired connections, so I wouldn't know how to detect intruders who are stealing your wifi. And I don't think Virus Protection would mess anything up.

Re: Wifi Connection
I would have to put a big emphasis on the stranger stealing connection thing. I have a wireless laptop, I have wifi on it, I don't pay for wifi, and I take somebody elses =p
But not all the time, like right now it's wired onto my router.
Oh, and you don't. Put a password onto your router. But if my WiFi becomes blocked, can you take the password down? =p

Re: Wifi Connection
Also, Rei. How much Mega's of internet you have´ And ya, I suffer the same problems Rei does...Heavy lag... The Wi-Fi connection in Brawl is kind of laggy, even if playing in the same region. Brawl is humiliated in Wi-Fi when compared to Mario Kart Wi-Fi(NO LAG AT ALL, I'M TOTALLY SERIOUS!)

Re: Wifi Connection
you should be able to setup the password on the administration page of your router. my router(linksys) are usually at 192.168.1.1 (just type that in your internet browser thing) then set up WPA for wireless security (you need a passphrase in order to do this) and setup a password for your router. and after that, no sneaky neighbors can steal you're internet!
