C-stick is....
C-Stick. For Noobs or Pros!?!!?
Hi Guys! I always hear players discussing about the C-stick. I have heard C-stick is for nubs with no skills and I have also heard it's for Pros who make quick attacks with it. What do you think about the C-stick? Noobish or Pro-like?
My thoughts on the C-stick
I think the C-stick can go ever way depending on how you use it. C-stick Abusing is what some consider just wrong. It is the constant use of the C-stick to make you character use their Smash Attack. That can also fall in the category of (I use this term lightly) "spamming". I enjoy when people constantly use there C-stick. You want to know why ? It is the simple fact that in Brawl the attack power of one move ,if used constantly, decrease the more it is "abused". This is bad. This could give you a hard time killing your opponent do to the fact that you can't K.O. them since your attacks are to weak and have less knock-back. So if you claim you can't beat a C-stick "smash abuser" then I only has one thing for you.... . lol jk jk.
Now onto the better way to use C-stick. Some players let the decent usage of the the C-stick slide. Players that use it "decently" are usually great players. My brother sometimes uses this with Wolf when spiking the opponent. He does this because when in the air pressing down will weigh him down to his character's untimely death. To prevent this he uses this input: Y, C-stick down. It will help him hover over the opponent without weighing Wolf down. When he uses the input: Y, Down A; he usually weighs himself down. The reason I explained this is the simple fact that some great players might use the C-stick "decently" to help them with certain combos and techniques. (I'm not saying my bro is good even though he is decent). This is what I call "decent usage of C-stick".
Rei's Closing Thoughts
I say using the C-stick "decently" is the best way to use it. Just make sure you don't overuse it for Smash Attacks ,because the price can be too costly. Just so you know, I don't use the C-stick (I'm not stating this as a claim to be better than you or to be the best). I'm just saying this because I know some people will say I do use it even though to I try to tell them I don't. .

Your thoughts are great, I agree. I only use the C-stick when i'm smashing or sometimes spiking, and of course, I use it for QDA with Link

Re: C-Stick. For Noobs or Pros!?!!?
I simply use it because for me, doing a quick down smash wit Zelda just isnt quick anymore if I do Down A. I usually miss my chance, and I dont see why people scorn me for it if It takes a whole second less (think about it) than if I do Down A.
Ive tried it, and its VERY hard to do her down tilt combo if you do down A at the end. If you use the c stick, works every time
As for spiking, I ONLY use it for spiking Down A spiking ftl

I somehow don't really find the "BIG" speed difference on rather you press (Any Direction) A or the C stick.

There is not a "Big" difference. It might be that you are accustom to using C-stick so much that you feel a different. Its not how fast you press the button or tap the C-stick. It is how fast the attack comes out.

Re: C-Stick. For Noobs or Pros!?!!?
The C-stick is most definitely not for noobs; rather, it can be extremely helpful for players. I changed my C-stick to a tilt stick since I feel my tilts come out faster when I C-stick them than when using the control stick and A. I use his tilts more often than his smashes. Also, speed, priority and punishment are more paramount for G&W's tilts than his smashes.

wow guru i didnt know u altered ur controls configuration xD. i thought u cud whip out ur tilts like at that speed cuz uve been playing gw since melee. as for c stick id say its alrite cuz of speed as u guys said and for people who havent been using smashes long. i switch from ness who was all about short hopping and his f smash (bat) was 2 slow to use to using kirby who uses smashes a lot. i gotta use the c stick most definately for speed cuz its hard for my fingers to do side a xD.

Re: C-Stick. For Noobs or Pros!?!!?
Actually it could be used for both. Noobs use it cause they probably don't know how to correctly play but if Pros know their stuff, they use it for like a "quick attack". I know that cause sometimes I use the C-Stick in a tight situation or to be fast but most of the time I don't.

Ok, I know Pee put the last choice on the poll...but who put the Second one!!!!!
Lol jk
@Aaron
Yea, GC is probably the best for most players ,but you should go with what you like and feel comfortable with.

Re: C-Stick. For Noobs or Pros!?!!?
The c stick in my case (only on ike, on marth I use default controls) is set to tilts. This allows me to run off the stage and down air without activating fast fall, it allows me to neutral air while having complete control of my movement by hitting a diagonal input, and all of ike's tilts are frankly tons better than his smashes are, for similar puporses (which most of the time they dont serve anyway). Ftilt is an amazing brickwall pressure move to keep someone cornered while keeping your range, his up tilt is an amazing anti aerial and his down tilt is an incredible spike. That said I obviously only use it when in the air or performing a tilt, I can see it being "noobish" to hug the C stick and -nothing- else in the case of wolf players etc but whatever, offline anything goes.

Thanx for tips Ryko. *sets C-stick to to do tilts*. XD
Guru said this too but I thought it only worked for G&W.

Re: C-Stick. For Noobs or Pros!?!!?
The C stick for marth can only be used for 2 purposes:
Smash stick: Front Smash
Tilt stick: Up tilt
The rest of them are so easy to input either way or serve such little purpose that your c stick will rarely ever be used for either.
Personally, I'd keep it for front smashing purposes. It's the more commonly used move between that and up tilt.
