Switching your controls
Is changing your controls considered a handicap? Say you have trouble doing tilts, so u set ur c stick to do tilts. or whatever else you can change it to. if ur so good then why cant u do these move o naturel? i mean i doubt these changes are allowed in tournaments and correct me if im wrong. i myself think they shud be left alone and learn to play the regular way. cause if u want to stop doing this ur gonna have to unlearn it and break ur habbit. im open for discussion.
*guru said for me to open a discussion topic cuz im bored lol*

Re: Switching your controls
Switching your controls is just something that makes the motions of some things more natural. I don't full hop often at all as ike, and I should more often, but my thumb doesnt bend the wya to hold a full hop and a quick draw at the same time so I changed my unused jump button to specials

Re: Switching your controls
I don't see how in any way changing controls could be considered a handicap. And the reason I use the tilt-stick more often than the au naturale method is because I find the C-stick to be more accessible and give faster input.

Re: Switching your controls
Yes, I rarely jump at full height so it's instinctive to just tap my jump button for short hops.

I'm not sure, it might instinctive like Ryko said and sometimes it might be by accident or ppl may need help to get used to it so it really helps

lol, when you're used to the controller maybe not. if you're not, you're screwed.

Re: Switching your controls
I use changed control settings...
in order to c-stick my aerials properly and quickly enough with Zelda to perform short hopped double bairs...i set my B-button to jump and my Y-button to specials. Normally i can do the double bairs just by using the A-button...but using the c-stick maintains proper spacing which is especially important with Zelda's air game...and even allows for retreating double bairs.
I also set my right trigger button to jump...but i really only use that when i play Peach cause it frees up my thumb to perform aerials while i hover around. I don't use the trigger button for short hops though...it doesn't have the proper sensitivity to perform them easily.

Re: Switching your controls
I always get rid of tap jump. Allows me to get uptilt SO much faster. I usually keep everything the same though. Double bairs are no problem with my config... just need to work on doing them more.
