Doc's Portfolio

Yeah, so it's like 5 AM, I can't sleep and am bored, so I suppose I'll make an art thread here since I haven't already for some reason.
So let's start out with a couple sigs...


Anyways enjoy those for now, and later, when I'm not so tired and have gotten some replies, I'll stick some of my paintings and newer sigs in here as well. *yawns*

And of course, any comments would be very appreciated. ^^

Great stuff Doc! My favorites are the Link one and the Etna sig. To tell you the truth (don't take this the wrong way, please!!! lol) I didn't really like your style at first ,but now after seeing a bunch of your sigs I can finally appreciate your style. I hope you understood that lol. Nonetheless, your Portfolio gets a 11/10.

Btw, ever thought of starting a sig shop here? It would be great and I would hopefully be your first costumer.

The Link one is incredible... All of them get 11/10. As for being a sig shop guy, you can join me and M4K3_A_M0V3 in being signature artists. Maybe help M4K3 with his random sigs that he makes.

PS. The DDD one isnt bad, I think it looks kinda funny.

Told you Rei. His style is awesome! Does kinda take a bit to get used to it I guess, but theres so much detail in it I cant fathom how many layers each one has lol

Rei: lol, yeah I understand, don't worry about it. XD And I'm still thinking on the sig shop thing... the one I've got can get extremely hectic when things pic up, despite having three other sigmakers working with me. So I dun' wanna get swamped if things pick up in both shops at once. But like I said, I'll think about it. XD

And also, just for the heck of it and since I mentioned paintings earlier, here's a birthday present I made my gf a while ago. She's a big fan of Knight and Pit, so I did a little fusion. XP

x.x OMG! That sig is... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! 20/10! Doc, you are epic. I main Marth so that's why this is so epic. I miss my photoshop. If it hadn't broke I would be learning how to make sigs. So I'm stuck with using sigs that done really look good =/.

I really like the Meta/Pit fusion Pic. I makes me think of meta like a fallen angel. I don't know if that's the look you were going for but I think it's epic.

I have a question, Doc. Do you seriously just use like stock photos for stuff like your Marth sig? I know you had an original picture,(s) Then you got a weird brush for that right border thing, but then you have this like square pattern going on the left and those weird bluish effects. Are those pictures or some brush... or some option...? O.o

Thanks Rei, and yeah, a fallen angel kind of look was just what I was going for in the Meta piece, I'm happy you said that. XD

Zeph: Yeah, like 85% of the Marth sig is just stock images, filters, and blending modes. The square-ish pattern on the left was made with a vector brush from this (MASSIVE) brushset: http://paulw.deviantart.com/art/378-ABSTRACT-BRUSHES-CS-1-2-3-19395277

I let this topic die way too quick. ._. (Also, I'm late here by a lot, but thanks for the support and comments people)

So here are two, brand spanking new sigs I made as practice. I learned a brand new trick from these two that's going to let me make a sig any shape I want to rather than a simple rectangle, which is a pretty darned awesome prospect I think.

I was wondering how you did Rei's sig. The zelda one is very nice.

EDIT: Let me know if I'm close. I say... compile a couple of images together to create the outline of the sig. then, merge visible, and click blending options, then click color overlay. whala an outline? ?_? My guess.

Nope, that's not it. Like I said, I'll just make a tutorial and post it sometime soon instead of explaining it over and over to everyone that's asked me about it. XD

Random 20 minute landscape speedpaint, done in Photoshop using one of the tiny little cheap tablets my digital imaging class provides us. (I think it would've been better if I used my fancy personal tablet, but whatever. XP)
