FD is not the only neutral stage lol. In Brawl, they have alot of stages that that have no dangerous stage effects. FD is one of them ,but not the only one. All the ones in the list I provided on the first page should list them.

no platforms do not benefit certain characters. if u dont have a good air game or u spam up smash thats ur problem but it doesnt benefite certain chars just playstyles.

Platforms definitely benefit some characters more than others. Ike and Bowser immediately come to mind.

FD is about the least neutral of the neutral stages that exist. It's inherently flawed for some recoveries (wolf for example) and greatly supports a campy game and star KO's due to being a very wide stage. Platforms don't make a stage not neutral, if anything I'd say they only hinder divebomb attacks, most of which are very bad to use anyway. I'd say out of the neutrals (Yoshi's, Battlefield, Lylat, FD, Smashville, Pokemon Stadium 1, And Delfino) smashville is the most "fair" all around.

As far as counterpicks, which are allowed is entirely up to the event holder you have. Within reason a counterpick list can include
Halberd
Castle Siege
Luigi's Mansion
Green Greens
Distant Planet
Norfair
Frigate Orpheon
Rainbow Cruise
Jungle Japes
Great Sea
Picto Chat
Sky World
Yoshi's Island (Melee)
Brinstar
And Corneria

Before you go "Well some of those stages arent fair"... it's a counterpick, it's not meant to be fair. It's meant to put you at a disadvantage and force you to adapt or change something.

True that. Although, not only with the characters, some playstyles require some more room than others, if you catch my drift. Battlefield, compared to FD, is a much smaller stage and thus being defensive isnt always so easy. FD makes defensiveness insanely easy. Some players are defensive and offensive... so compare playstyles too.

I dont think there can be a pure "neutral stage". Smashville can be pretty close, but personally, I dont like it. Not the stage itself, but the background. Animal Crossing? Thats the least epic stage ever. If youre trying to make something fun and epic, Smashville utterly ruins it in my view. Quote: In my view. for those who would like to argue for some reason.

you're not supposed to pay attention to the animals when you're brawling anyways. and i never noticed a fluffy bunny. maybe thats why you sd so much. you pay too much attention to the scenery.

This is all coming from the guy who mains TL? The cutest and most cartoony character in the game? lol. His bombs emit cute little orange clouds, his funny little emotions he makes, and lets not forget those taunts. Thats just my opinion though. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Back on topic, Smashville is the most neutral stage. FD is too big. To me, all that matters is that I'm playing somewhere that is fun and makes me happy. I thought BF was lame but now it helps my game and has great music XD.

I agree with Brawler. It doesn't benefit characters ,but the players play style. There might be a Yoshi user that doesn't use egg throw as much as another. Granted, some stages can be counter picked I still say it is complete dependent on play style. I know this Marth player by me that is terrible on Battlefield , while my game excels on Battlefield. =/

So wait, Shadow Moses isn't a counterpick at least? weird, huh? Neutral. It would at least qualify to be a counterpick stage. Yea, it stops you from dieing but still just hit them up. When I fight there by the time I'm ready to kill them the walls are already destroyed. Also, the excuse walk off stage does not compute. The reason being is the fact that Delfino Plaza and Castle Siege. I don't see how this is a banned stage. scratch

IMO!
