Spamming or not

Okay, when I'm really trying to beat an opponent, I'll pay very close attention to their movements and attacks. In several cases, another player will literally do the same move over, and over again. One of the easiest examples I can think of, and one I see done a lot, is a Falco or Fox coming from the air and doing a dair at you. When I notice this happens, I begin to let it happen, and shield to a grab or Dsmash. Now, sometimes people I play will do that, and maybe 1 or 2 other obvious moves, that they repeat over and over, and each time I punish it in the same way, whether it be a laser, a gyro, a smash, whatever. This happens over and over again and eventually the other person hypocritically comments that the one countering is a spammer. I'm just curious as to what you all think of it.

Countering spam with a specific move isn't spam in my book. If it's the move that will overcome your opponent's overused, overly-predictable move, then you're just countering well.

Nonsensical move use is spam; Measured, well-timed move use is strategy.

oh man. i hope i'm not one of the reasons for this.

i just dislike rob's nair that's all. lol.

but yeah. the person just says it out of anger because if how that move keeps working on them and they can't find a way around it. and they only notice a consistency of that move/moves countering and wrecking them.

Lol don't worry Zachi, it's not even close to being about you. It's about various people I've played online. (No one from this forum) Guru obviously knows one such person I'm talking about. : P

that's not spam, that just proves R.O.B is lame! hehe, joking. It's just punishing your opponent so he won't use that lame aerial again.

Rob don't worry, it's not spamming. I did the same thing in SC4 when I faced a Kilik and I used my Kilik, he tried to spam me so I kept on using the same counter. He then called me a spammer (360 has mics) and then I told him he's the spammer and I was just using a counter move. He then proceeded to call me a nerd because I called it a counter. I guess his vocabulary stretched about as far as his nose.
